Meet the team - Jenny, Primary Consultant for Cambridge
Position: Primary Consultant for Cambridge
Likes: Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain..
Jenny is Cambridge’s latest recruit and has slotted into the team like a dream. Apparently 30 years as a teacher in primary schools is the perfect preparation for dealing with this “eccentric” bunch!
After qualifying as a primary teacher in 1987, Jenny spent a grand total of 25 years working in schools across Essex, London and Cambridgeshire. After many years in the same school, she found herself with a busy family life, a daughter in primary school and an endless pile of marking and planning! It was time for a change and she decided to give supply teaching a whirl.
Jenny registered with Headline Cambridge with the hopes of continuing full-time work, but on flexible supply. Through Headline she not only had the opportunity to work in a variety of great schools but was able to reclaim her family and social life. Feeling in need of a new challenge, Jenny agreed to a regular PPA position in a local SEN school. By the time the academic year was up she had accepted a permanent position.
Fast-forward seven years and looking for another change, Jenny spotted our advert for a new Primary Consultant. Although a big jump from teaching, the position struck a chord. She remembered the wonderful and friendly Headline team (her words I swear) and thought she could use her experience as a supply teacher to help those teachers now coming through to join Headline.
After a couple of weeks getting to grips with spreadsheets and compliance admin (how else would you want to spend the summer!?) Jenny is now set up and raring to go for the new school year. We think she is a perfect fit, and we can’t wait to watch her fly!
